[즉문즉설] 제100회 이혼 도장은 찍었지만 마음이 답답합니다.

결혼생활 30년된 한 가정의 가장입니다.
넉넉하지는 않지만 그런대로 살아가고 있었는데 어느날 아내가 동창회에 자주 나가면서 늦게 귀가하는 일이 많아지고 밤 12시 넘기는 일이 종종 있다 보니 부부간에 갈등이 깊어지면서 싸움을 자주 했습니다. 그러다 심한 말다툼 끝에 이혼까지 하게 됐습니다. 물론 그렇게까지는 안 하려고 했는데 조금도 자기의 잘못을 인정 않고 굽히지 않는 아내에게 나도 자존심이 있고 지기 싫어서 이혼은 했지만 마음은 편치 않습니다. 그렇게 된 원인을 생각하면 젊은 시절에 제가 아내에게 속도 썩이고 마음고생도 많이 시킨 제 잘못이라고 형제들은 얘기를 합니다만, 저도 인정은 하지만 지금은 마음잡고 잘 살고 있는지라 쉽게 납득은 안 가는데도 아내에게 참회하는 마음입니다. 솔직히 재결합을 하려고 해도 엄두가 나지 않고 안 하려고 해도 부모와 자식들이 걸립니다. 도장은 찍었지만 서류제출은 안 하고 있어서 법적으로는 아직 부부입니다. 스님 마음이 답답합니다.

I was married for 30 years.
We weren't affluent, but we managed to make ends meet.
One day, my wife began to attend school reunions and coming home late.
She often came home after midnight. So, we began to argue more often.
Then, after a big argument, we ended up divorcing.
I didn't mean to take it that far, but my wife refused to admit fault.
She was unyielding. I have my pride and didn't want to lose,
so I divorced her, but I am not happy about it.
My siblings tell me that I brought it on myself.
Early in my marriage, I caused my wife a lot of worries.
I admit it, but I mended my ways long ago,
so, it's not easy for me to understand, but I feel sorry.
Frankly, even if I were to try to get her back, I don't know where to begin.
I think of giving up, but I think my parents and kids may want us to stay together.
We haven't submitted the divorce papers to court, so we are still legally married.
Sunim, I feel frustrated. I would like your wise opinion.
