Introduction to LEGACY UK

Legacy UK is a dance company strongly influenced by the umbrella of UK Jazz dance and its cultural significance within the fabric of Britain since the second Wind Rush generation of the Black British. Though a genre not widely yet explored, the company work academically, theoretically and physically, finding old and new ways of reflecting modern Britain and its legacy through dance and music that is both progressive and challenging physically, visually and mentally.

"Jaz:Evo!" (the Future Jazz tour) 2013 is a celebration and embracing of the British relationship to Jazz as a milestone in forming the identity of the children of Caribbean parents. It also looks at how young dancers can use the dance to strengthen their sense of identity today.
