The Church Faces A Challenge (1948) / Der Kölner Dom vor Herausforderungen

In Amsterdam, the World Council of Protestants meets with 1.000 delegates from 14 countries to worship.
During the ceremony, West-Berlin is under siege and must be supplied by the Berlin Airlift. The industry in the city is weak and more and more people become unemployed.
The Cologne Cathedral is celebrating its 700th anniversary. For the first time in 5 years, the church is being reopened. During the procession, the relics are brought back into the cathedral. Thousands of spectators watch the ceremony.

In Amsterdam trifft sich der Ökumenische Rat der Evangelen mit 1.000 Delegierten aus 14 Ländern zum Gottesdienst.
West-Berlin wird währenddessen belagert und muss aus der Luft versorgt werden. Die Industrie der Stadt gerät ins Stocken, wodurch die Arbeitslosigkeit steigt.
In Köln wird das 700-jährige bestehen des Doms gefeiert. Zum ersten Mal seit 5 Jahren wird die Kirche wiedereröffnet. Bei einer Prozession werden die Reliquien zurück in den Dom gebracht. Den Festakt schauen sich tausende Zuschauer an.
