For three centuries, High Artificer Syrentha has failed to stabilize Aethelgard’s "World-Engine," viewing its temporal decay as a divine mathematical riddle. Human maintenance worker Caleb Morgan, annoyed by a flickering breakroom light, discovers the "holy" machine is actually a vibrating, unlubricated gimbal. When religious zealots attack the Sanctum to stop his "heresy," Caleb reveals the Engine is an ancient human stabilizer. Amidst plasma fire and rising heat, the duo performs a desperate mechanical fix.
