Shirotaru no Kon - Old Style

Описание к видео Shirotaru no Kon - Old Style

Here is my practical reproduction of "Shirotaru no Kon" as had been learned by Miki Nisaburō from Ōshiro Chōjo in the late 1920s. Miki Nisaburō described the Kata in text and illustrations and published it in 1930.
Since this version is different than any of the other versions in existence, and since it is the oldest version that has been recorded, I refer to it as "koshiki" or "old style".

Previously I have published a 5 parts article series about Shirotaru, which has a lot of details on history, theory and technique and which explains how I choreographed this version for the first time in the world. If you are interested in it, the articles start here http://ryukyu-bugei.com/?p=7553
Last but not least, "Shirotaru no Kon" is a kata that can be performed with both the Bo and the Ueku. I am using a real Ueku produced by Dreametal of Greece, so it is a heavy tool. No fancy moves but once swung it will not stop upon contact...
