The Dry Plate Diaries Part 1

In this video I document the development of a trial run with J Lane Speed Plates. My current Work In Progress project at Falmouth University is about the work of Edward Mudge. You will learn a lot more about him over the coming weeks as I look at his archive and interview relatives and people who have preserved his work in museums.

As I will making work in the same way as Mudge I needed to refresh my memory on using Dry Plates ahead of an interview with Jason Lane.

This work will form my Work In Progress portfolio for Module 3 of my MA in Photography with Falmouth Flexible. This module is Sustainable Strategies. I will also produce an 8 minute documentary video to accompany this portfolio and the full recordings for each part of the documentary will be posted here.
I've borrowed the name from an excellent book by Joe McNally called The Hot Shoe Diaries, if only I was 10% as good or as funny as him! I bet he never used a non-waterproof stinky glove :(
