The Masters always celebrates its legends — and in 2025, nine former champions are heading into the weekend at Augusta National. Leading the way is defending champ Scottie Scheffler, just three shots back as he chases history by going back-to-back, a feat only achieved by Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods.

Hideki Matsuyama and Patrick Reed are right in the mix at three under, while two-time winner Bubba Watson remains in striking distance at one under. Other past champions who made the cut include Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson, Charl Schwartzel, and Danny Willett — all sitting at two over.

But not all Masters legends survived the cut. Dustin Johnson, Bernhard Langer, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Fred Couples, and Angel Cabrera were among the nine past champs heading home early.

Altogether, the nine weekend contenders bring nine green jackets’ worth of experience to Saturday and Sunday. Can Scheffler make history? Can one of the vets add another chapter to their Augusta legacy?
