LEGIONELLA RISK FROM BUILDING & WATER FEATURE SHUTDOWNS
Legionella is a risk posed by long-term facility shutdowns. Watch AEMTEK’s Legionella Testing and Monitoring webinar to learn how to address the risk and ensure your building is safe for re-opening.

RISK OF LEGIONELLA BUILDUP IN UNUSED WATER PIPES
Water pipes, when left unused, are the perfect breeding ground for Legionella bacteria. The pandemic-related shutdown of buildings and/or water lines (such as drinking fountains) promoted the growth of this common water-borne pathogen. If left untested and unmonitored, the bacteria will be carried through the water supply and infect building occupants when facilities re-open, and water supply is restored through those pipelines.

RISK OF LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE FROM BUILDING SHUTDOWNS
Legionella causes Legionnaires’ disease when a person breathes in small droplets of water in the air that contain the bacteria. These droplets are usually formed when using showerheads, sink faucets, cooling towers, hot tubs, decorative fountains, and many other sources.

WEBINAR COVERS:
During this webinar, Dr. Brook Liu and Thomas Giang provide a comprehensive overview of Legionella testing and monitoring, and what they are seeing as buildings re-open from the pandemic shut-downs. We also cover:

• What is Legionella?
•Ecology and habitat of Legionella
•Health risk of Legionella contamination
•Previous Legionella Outbreaks
•Recommended Legionella monitoring plan
•How to sample for Legionella
•How to test for Legionella
•How to treat Legionella contamination
•How to use AEMTEK's Legionella testing services

WHO SHOULD WATCH:
Environmental Consultants, Industrial Hygienists, Building Managers, Hospital Managers, School Facility Managers, Long-Term Care Facility and Hotel Managers, Any employer that has closed their building or water features (such as drinking fountains, sinks, etc.) and is considering re-opening the facility.
