The LSST Discovery Alliance Data Science Fellowship Program is an innovative training program for Astronomy graduate students to prepare them for data intensive science with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time.

In this lecture, Dr. Lehman Garrison, Scientific Computing Core, Flatiron Institute, introduces high performance computing and parallelization in python. This lecture was part of Session 21: Databases and Software Engineering held at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
