Taima, a 25-year-old Syrian refugee, and Touqa, a 23-year-old from a marginalized host community in Jordan, share more than just challenges – they share resilience and determination.

Through UNICEF’s Learning to Earning programme – supported by PROSPECTS, an innovative partnership that aims to improve the lives of refugees and host communities – both young women have gained the skills and confidence to build brighter futures. The programme helps young refugees, migrants, and vulnerable youth from host communities transition from education and skills training into decent work and sustainable livelihoods.

Touqa is now beginning her career as a barista, while Taima has stepped into a supervisory role at a local paper factory. Their journeys highlight how inclusive programmes like PROSPECTS can transform lives — empowering young people, strengthening communities, and creating lasting opportunities for all.
