Donation Manu'asi of Narasirato plays for us #1

In February 2015, Christopher Conder and Kate Spencer travelled to the Solomon Islands to meet the musicians from the wonderful bamboo band Narasirato (www.narasirato.com).

Before we got to their village on Malaita island, we spent some time in the country's capital, Honiara. There the leader of Narasirato, Donation Manu'asi, came to visit us outside the St Agnes Mother's Union Guest House. He was staying in the city to teach music in the local school and treated us to some impromptu musical performances. The band don't perform with guitars, and he usually just uses them to compose, so this was a rare solo treat. Sorry about the background building work, one of the risks of spontaneous outdoor music alas!
