Among the many cases of caste discrimination that made headlines in Karnataka in 2021, one case was that of Santhosh D D.
Santhosh had experienced caste discrimination his entire life, but this one incident sparked not just protests but also introspection within the community.
Ever since, he has been striving to create new economic opportunities for his community. Further, he is also using the art of his community, including Somana Kunitha, Sopaana and Tamte Vaadya, to bring the community together and create a feeling of oneness.
