Mischievous Happenings in the Music World | Chitravina Ravikiran, Prof G Desiraju, Dr Ranjani Vasuki

Описание к видео Mischievous Happenings in the Music World | Chitravina Ravikiran, Prof G Desiraju, Dr Ranjani Vasuki

Notwithstanding the mischiefs of the Madras Music Academy in terms of sidelining top class musicians from the neighbouring states, the recent one announcing the Sangita Kalanidhi to TM Krishna has revealed a new nadir. This has led to some bold decisions by stalwarts like Sri Chitraveena Ravikiran (Twiiter: @ravikiranmusic) returning the Sangita Kalanidhi back to the Academy. T M Krishna is a symptom of a larger malaise.
In this brief chat we get his personal perspectives along with the viewpoints of Dr. Ranjani Vasuki, another performing vocalist of high repute, Prof. Desiraju (@gautamdesiraju) a connoisseur of classical music who himself denied accepting the Bhatnagar Award some 30 years back. We also talk about the issues that are currently experienced in the art arena.

The panel is moderated by Prof V Ramanathan (Twitter: @vraman16), a Rasika himself, who has critiqued the first book written by T. M. Krishna.

Chitraveena Ravikiran @ravikiranmusic who returned his Sangita Kalanidhi award to the Madras Music Academy with this statement: "I’ve taken this step after careful consideration as principles much larger than all of us are at stake. However I’ll always remain deeply grateful to the org for its role in my career from childhood."
