Traditionally, Prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom. Frequently misunderstood, these flags do not carry any prayers to the gods. It is believed that the mantras get blown away with the wind as the flag deteriorates with time to spread good will and compassion into the pervading space.
