Prices of phosphetic fertilizers are increasing continuously. Especially dap fertilizer, diammonium phosphate fertilizer, diammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate price has increased a lot and reached out of the range of common farmers. Farmers are searching for an alternate that may serve their purpose in wheat crop as well as not stress very much money leading because of poor economy. In these conditions, SSP (Single Super Phosphate) fertilizer draws attention of farming community to be used as a replacement of expensive fertilizers like dap and map. In this video, we have described different positive and negative aspects of using ssp in our soils for wheat cultivation in this season. SSP can be used by keeping an eye on our soil health and soil condition. SSP fertilizer can not be used in all types of soil. SSP is a slow to available fertilizer that is not readily available to the crop. It takes some weeks to properly work efficiently. It is suggested to use ssp fertilizers few days before sowing of wheat so that it may become available for the crop when it is much required for the crop. Urea fertilizer must be used along with ssp. Urea should be used separately at sowing after the application of ssp few days before. This formula may work as an alternate of dap fertilizer.
Price is increasing rapidly and Diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer is becoming beyond the reach of poor farmers. In this video, we have advised the farmers about how to make SSP plus urea equivalent to DAP. First point if that most of SSP marketed is prepared from low phosphorus dolomitic in Abbotabad and relatively of better but siliceous of Kakool area is of substandard quality and it does not perform like DAP. Some of the fertilizer companies like Suraj Fertilizer Industries Pvt. Sahiwal providing Badsha SSP import rock phosphate from Egypt and their SSP has been found up to the mark. Three bags of SSP plus 20kg of urea may be used as alternate of DAP especially in the Salt affected soils.
