Om Shivapriyaayai Svaahaa!

Team Amarnath Ghosh presents Uma Maheshwari. This keerthanam Written and Composed by Sri Alathoor Vijayakumar depicts the bravery and beauty of Uma- Goddess Parvathy. Uma is described as the universal protector, the other half of Lord Shiva and the ruler of the 3 worlds. Her eyes are the like the petals of a lotus flower and her beauty is enhanced by the maragada petals which adorn her neck. She is also described as the merciful one and the provider for Lord Shiva and thus she is called "Annapoorneshwari".
Concept behind the Choreography
Amarnath Ghosh as the choreographer has a strong belief in the connection between Jeevatma and Paramatma. He shows the devotion of a child towards his mother instead of the devotion of a devotee towards the Ultimate Maa Shakti. He describes the beauty of his Maa- as the child of Maa he feels that her eyes which are big and wide as a lotus petal oozes with compassion towards her devotees ( children) however the corners of her eyes represents a very deep shringaar, a very deep kaama, a very deep icchaa which represents a very materialistic part of the part of the prithvi loka which is why we call her Kaamaakshi. She is always pure with the utmost purity. No matter what sins you may commit she is the Ultimate Maa Shakti who always forgives you.
