Harvest Hosts - What is it & is it worth it? New York Locations

Harvest Hosts. What are they and are they worth it? This video explains what Harvest Hosts is along with why I think it is a FANTASTIC Membership. So many different businesses to learn about and experiences that you wouldn’t normally get to enjoy.

Here are some of my FAVORITE NEW YORK HOSTS:

1) LADUE ALPACAS - Brockport, NY - Run by a woman named Kim. She offers tour for about $15. You get to go right in and meet the Alpacas & feed them. She gives you all kinds of information about them. How they are fed, their habits, and what the different kinds of “FIBER” are (that’s the fuzzy wool stuff that gets sheered off them ONCE a year). Such an interesting tour. She has a lovely gift shop/barn where you can purchase all kinds of items made with the Alpaca FIBERS. This bunch was ALL MALE.

2) CLADDAGH FARM ALPACAS - LaFayette, NY - This farm is run by Sarah & Carl LaManna. They breed alpacas and in fact 3 of them were pregnant at the time. (This group was Mostly ALL females.) Missed the birth of one by A FEW hours. Got to see Sarah hose them down as it was SO HOT. Such lovely hosts. This is also where I discovered that Meadow LOVES eggs. Beautiful, quite spot with a gorgeous sunset which I got to see from their swing. We also got to meet the neighbors dog who crossed the street to play with us!!

3) HILLCREST LAVENDER FARM - Sherburne, NY - This gorgeous and serene farm is run By Kathy & Eric. They couldn’t have been nicer. Eric even had hand made level blocks that were perfect for the location. Lavender that cascaded down the hill with a gazebo and swing in the middle of it all. They had baby doll sheep, Darryl, Darryl & Darryl plus Bo & Peep. And even though George, the KING of the KINGDOM CAT, didn’t want to be friends with Meadow, SHE enjoyed herself as well this location.

4) PEACEFUL ACRES HORSES - Princetown, NY - This is a Horse/Donkey rescue farm run by Nanci and her family. She saves horses that would otherwise be shipped to the glue factory. She is such a savior and has a stunning piece of property that truly is PEACEFUL ACRES. We were there when it was raining, so we didn’t get to go on a tour. But was able to wonder around the HUGE land when it did stop raining. She has horses, mini horses, donkeys, goats and more. Not - sure if they had a gift shop, however, I left her a donation for the farm in order to feed and take care of these beautiful creatures.

5) WOODROCK STUDIOS - Pine Bush, NY - This was a house and workshop of a multi medium artist. She has so many different art studios in her house for painting, sculptures, pottery, sock dolls and more. Such a talented woman….AND……her name is MEADOW!!! PERFECT. She is 85 years young and a spitfire. Had such great conversations. This is where I bought RUBY, who is our new traveling companion. Follow along to see WHERE IS RUBY!!!
