Symphonie Lahcen Idhamou - "Tindouf" & "Taleb Elemderst"

Описание к видео Symphonie Lahcen Idhamou - "Tindouf" & "Taleb Elemderst"

A performance by Symphonie Lahcen Idhamou of two traditional songs from the Souss region of Morocco, blending indigenous (Amazigh) culture with Islamic practice . The first song title, “Tindouf,” is the name of an Algerian town which borders Morocco and has historical significance in the territorial disputes over parts of the Western Sahara. It is a song of conflict and betrayal. The second song emerges from conflict and onto the spiritual path. The title, “Taleb Elemderst” translates from the Amazigh dialect into “student of the school,” and refers to the student of Islamic practice. Remix ⟷ Culture filmed and recorded Symphonie Lahcen Idhamou at the top of a mountain overseeing Paradise Valley (just east of the beach city of Agadir).
