Описание к видео Winkles- the tough life of marine snails - survival and adaptations

Episode 35: Winkles

These snails may be "a bit common", but hold onto your shells – there's far more to these creatures than meets the eye! They're common because of the amazing survival mechanisms they've developed to fit into this ecological niche.

Join us in this video as we delve into the diverse tidal zones inhabited by different winkle species. Charles introduces us to the littorina zone, dominated by the hardy periwinkle, and we meet South Africa's largest winkle species, the giant turban (locally known as the Alikreukel). We'll also marvel at the intricate, art-like patterns these creatures leave in the sand.

We hope you'll have a new found interest in these creatures after watching this video.
