Описание к видео EXCLUSIVE: BMI Speaker Session with Singer/Songwriters Eddie Benjamin & Kid Culture

We are excited to continue BMI Speaker Sessions, our ongoing series that gives insight into the unique professions of songwriting, producing, performing, and other fields within the music industry.

In our latest session, we present a dynamic conversation between BMI's Executive Director Jessa Gelt and BMI affiliates Eddie Benjamin and Kid Culture. Recorded in BMI's brand-new office space in Los Angeles, the trio discuss their individual and collaborative successes, thoughts and insights on the creative process, and the importance of the relationship between artist and producer. Their discussion also covers the nuances of setting intentions, following your instincts, and striving to bring your music to its highest level, among other engaging topics.

Eddie Benjamin
Eddie Benjamin is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has written and produced for artists like Meghan Trainor, Ryan Tedder, Shawn Mendes, Cordae, and the legendary Earth Wind and Fire. Beyond his work on other artists' music, Benjamin is a star in his own right, having landed recording and publishing deals with Epic/Vol. 1 Records and Sony Music Publishing, respectively. He has toured with Justin Bieber, released a string of successful singles—including one with Sia and one with Alessia Cara—and dropped an EP called Emotional in 2021. His song "Weatherman" proved to be a streaming success and was met with praise from Time magazine, who called it one of "The Best Songs of 2022 So Far." Benjamin’s new single “All for Nothing” dropped on February 20.

Kid Culture
Kid Culture is a two-time GRAMMY-nominated songwriter, producer, and artist responsible for co-writing and producing Justin Bieber’s hit song “Yummy.” He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Stevie Wonder, Anderson .Paak, Herbie Hancock, Ty Dolla $ign, Eminem, Miguel, Chance the Rapper, and Terrace Martin, and more. Culture was up for a 2020 Best Rap Song GRAMMY due to his work on Cordae and Chance the Rapper’s “Bad Idea” (the album itself was also nominated for Best Rap Album), and he released his debut solo single “KEEP IT” on January 16 via Epic/Vol. 1.
