Young Black Men, Not Left Out Again | Donte Woods-Spikes | TEDxColumbus

Описание к видео Young Black Men, Not Left Out Again | Donte Woods-Spikes | TEDxColumbus

When young black men are brought into discussion, death is usually the subject while their life story remains untold. Listen as a young black male, Donte Woods-Spikes, talks about some of his struggles growing up, as well the very different, unexpected, and unlikely friends that taught him lessons that not only helped him experience life differently, but made him realize there were internal issues he needed to address and resolve before it was too late.

Donte Woods-Spikes Is a Columbus Ohio Native with a camera and a plan to change both minds and hearts. Donte began taking classes at Columbus State Community College as a part time student in 2012, where he first ran into his Sociology teacher, an ex-cop, who introduced him to community work. Ever since he's been trying to make positive changes in areas where people are told to "stay away."

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
