1972: Why Hot Pants Were Banned From Ascot's Royal Enclosure

On this day in 1972, after retiring as Her Majesty's Representative at Ascot Racecourse, Bernard Fitzalan-Howard – the 16th Duke of Norfolk – told ITN's Geoffrey Archer how hot pants came to be banned from the Royal Enclosure.
