Easy fix broken pedal on piano keyboard - no screwdriver needed - Yamaha / Casio / Korg / Roland

How to fix problems of piano keyboard sustain pedal not working properly and faults eg holding notes when not pressed and stopping notes holding when pressed. I also cover what the polarity switch is for on a keyboard sustain pedal and how it can fix problems of pedal issues, doing the opposite of what it should do.

This is not intended to fix physical damage, faults or breaks on pedals, just the polarity issues than can occur when different pedals are used on different keyboards, or a pedal is plugged into a keyboard whilst the power is still on.

The keyboard I'm using is a Yamaha Piaggero NP11 but this same problem arises on all Yamaha keyboards I own and I'm sure it is the same for other makes too eg Roland, Casio, Korg, Nord etc...
