Queens Zoo: Everything You Need to Know! (Part of NYC’s Wildlife Conservation Society)

This week we are at Queens Zoo, one of the five zoos located throughout NYC. It’s part of the Wildlife Conservation Society which strives to save wildlife. The organization works with endangered animals and helps increase populations of many endangered species to help establish new homes for them in safe areas. If you’ve seen Animal Planet’s show called “The Zoo” then you know you will NOT see animals behind bars here; the concept is open spaces and glass barriers to provide a seamless view and provide animals with habitats like their native environments. Many animals are rescued and cannot survive in the wild. All animals receive care from veterinarians and nutritionists.
