Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away

[ Adapted, Re-edited, Re-equalized & REMASTERED by Obi Wan Kenobi ]

This is the On The Turning Away's REAL extended unreleased version from Delicate
Sound Of Thunder set, performed by the band back then, without all the modifications
it suffered for it's official releases of 1989, 2019 and/or 2020.
The process here was basically similar to the previous two songs I've reworked (One Slip
& Sorrow), but I think this time the video reduilding final result was even better.
For this remastering I took the August 20th, 1988 soundboard dry track from Nassau show
(THIS IS NOT THE 2019 RE-EDITION NOR ANY OTHER OFFICIAL RELEASED VERSION
OF THE SONG).

As usual I've edited the whole track: fist stabilized it from several inconsistences it had;
added dynamic volume to increase the sound range into a more enjoyable piece
with a sound less soundboard and closer to a "commercial scent"; inhanced a lot of
instrument details such a nice envelope effect on Rick Wright's keyboards sections,
rise the beautiful Guy Pratt's bass bridge before the second verse, added the delay
over David Gilmour's fist solol vocal part matching it with the 1994 tour style; inhanced
some other details like some raw screams from David's guitar, increased some parts
from backing vocals arrangementes to rise them up; added the crowd ambience before,
after and some in the middle of the song as well, and some other details...

Some details to look into this version regarding the official:
1- Guy Pratt's bass arrangements along the song, after deteled for the official releases.
2- The backing singers performance and arrangements, once again mostly deleted
and/or re-recorded; except one single part from Margaret Taylor that remained there.
3- David Gilmour's ending solo, here with more than 42 seconds additional duration,
which was almost completely re-recorded for the official releases especially 2019/20.

Esta es la versión REAL, extendida y completa interpretada por la banda en aquel entonces,
sin todas las modificaciones que sufrió para sus lanzamientos de 1989, 2019 y/o 2020.
El proceso que realicé fue básicamente similar a el de las otras dos canciones que publiqué
previamente (One Slip y Sorrow), pero creo que esta vez el resultado final de la re-edición
del video fue todavía mejor.
Para este remastering usé la version raw de consola del show del 20 de Agosto de 1988 (NO ES
LA REEDICIÓN DE 2019 NI NINGUNA OTRA VERSIÓN OFICIAL LANZADA DE LA CANCIÓN).

Como siempre edité la pista completa: primero la estabilicé de varias inconsistencias
que traía de orígen; le añadí volúmen dinámico para incrementar el rango sonoro haciendo
de la pieza más disfrutable, con un sonido menos de consola y más cercano a "lo comercial";
realcé varios detalles instrumentales como un buen efecto envolvemnte sobre las secciones
de teclados de Rick Wright; realcé el hermoso puente de bajo de Guy Pratt antes de la
segunda estrofa; le añadí el delay a la primera parte vocal de David Gilmour (lo cual fue
una decisión difícil, pero basado en mi propio gusto finalmente le dí para adelante); realcé
algunos otros detalles como ciertos puntos clave de la guitarra de David, le agregué relieve
a algunas partes casi perdidas de los coros de las chicas, agregué el ambiente del público
al comienzo, al final y también en algunas partes en medio de la canción, y unos cuantos
detalles más...

Algunos detalles para observar en esta versión respecto de la oficial:
1- Los arreglos de bajo de Guy Pratt a lo largo de la canción, luego borrados para el lanzamiento.
2- Toda la interpretación y arreglos de voces de las chicas del coro, de nuevo, en su mayoría
borrados y/o regrabados, excepto una única parte que quedó de Margaret Taylor.
3- El solo final de David Gilmour, aquí con 42 segundos adicionales, el cual además
fue practicamente regrabado en su totalidad para las publicaciónes oficiales, especialmente
2019/20.
