Chasing narrow gauge Neral - Matheran ToyTrain by road | UNESCO Heritage India

Finally the long pending plan to follow the Neral-Matheran NG Passenger by road on my bike fructified.

I start chasing the second morning service bound for Matheran all the way from its beginning point; Neral Junction & followed it till Dasturi Point beyond which vehicles are not permitted & where the road ends.

52103 NG Passenger starts off from Neral Jn. with High HorsePower NDM1 #405 from NRL (NERAL) NG DLS. Just before entering Jummapatti station, the train tackles double S curve. After that the train crosses the road several times. At Water Pipe station, the train crosses its downhill bound counterpart 52102 NG Passenger service headed by HHP NDM1 #407.

While returning to the base, I follow 52102 from Water Pipe till Jummapatti. While I was waiting at Jummapatti for 52102, a mixed departmental rake coming from Neral Jn. & bound for Matheran shows up behind yellow +green liveried HHP NDM1 #402. It then crosses downhill bound 52102.

All the NDM1 units seen in this video are homed at NRL (NERAL) NG DLS. NRL DLS has come up with fresh & new livery made up of red & green & has applied it on #403, #405, #407 as seen in this video.
