嗩吶是伴隨陝北人一生的樂器，是他們不可抗拒的信仰和寄託。從出生到嫁娶，從產子到入土，每一個人生階段都離不開嗩吶的烘托與陪伴。它是陝北人的第二母語，流淌在每個陝北人的口頭心上；它是陝北人的精神豐碑，鐫刻著每個陝北人的悲歡離合。作曲家對嗩吶懷有深深的情感，感動於陝北人民對這件樂器的眷戀與執著，所以她用最熾烈的曲調，賦予了嗩吶這首情到極致的《朝天歌》。

As a traditional musical instrument that accompanies the entire life of Shaanbei (Northern Shaanxi) people, the Suona is their irresistible faith and reliance. From birth to marriage, from childbirth to death, every stage of life cannot be separated from the Suona’s accompaniment and influence, which flows in the oral and mental world of every person from Northern Shaanxi. The Suona is also a spiritual monument engraved with their joys, sorrows, and partings. The composer has a deep affection for the Suona and was moved by the Shaanbei people’s attachment and persistence towards this very instrument, which drove her to create this utmost sentimental concerto with the most ardent melodies.
