Sue Ann, born in Minneapolis , is a protégé of Prince and Jesse Jonson and worked with Prince in his early years from 1978 to 1981. She recorded a version of his song, ‘Make It Through The Storm’ in 1978 and released it in 1981.

She had a successful career as a backup & session singer. Singing background vocals for Jesse Johnson, Ricky Martin, Bobby Brown, Brownmark, and Celine Dion among many others.

Her most famous Minneapolis related song was singing background on ‘Love Struck’ by Jesse Johnson (1988), also appearing in the music video.
