Composer Reacts to The Weeknd - Blinding Lights

Hello YouTube family...Trying something new here!! I decided to analyze the song "Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd. By taking a composer's perspective, I dig into what makes this 4-chord song work so incredibly well while never getting repetitive or boring!
It was a great learning experience and I hope the analysis can help other songwriters understand how to cleverly move a song forward and avoid monotony when not changing harmonic structure (chords), rhythm, dynamics or orchestration. In this case, the song uses changing Melodic rhythm and increasing Melodic register to superb effect.
It's brilliantly done. And there's a fantastic Golden Ratio moment which pays off so well in this song. You'll have to watch the video to understand how I connect Leonardo DaVinci and The Weeknd!!
