Every good hero needs a worthy adversary, and Superman gets just that in Man of Steel in the form of Kryptonian villains General Zod and Faora.

Michael Shannon and Antje Traue are the duo tasked with taking down Henry Cavill's Superman, and the pair spoke to Digital Spy about keeping the blockbuster's secrets under wraps and which superpowers they'd least like to have.

"The x-ray vision, that's a tough way to live - you can't really turn it on or off," Shannon said. "That's what I like about this movie, they go into that, it's not just when it comes in handy. You gotta learn how to deal with it.

"[Heat vision] would come in handy if you were a chef," he added. "You could make a wicked crème brûlée."
