I never planned to start a small business — and I definitely never thought I’d be crafting fidget rings by hand. Leaving my corporate job opened a path I couldn’t have imagined before.

Over the past two years, building Crafty Care has taught me so much:
about craftsmanship, courage, and about people who struggle with skin picking, nail biting, and other body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs).
It also taught me a lot about myself — especially what’s possible when you allow yourself to be a beginner.

I started without knowing how to use a torch, how to weld, or how to gold-plate. I was anxious, unsure, and afraid to make mistakes with big consequences like injuries. Today, these tools are part of my daily routine — and over 1,000 people are wearing fidget rings I made with my own hands.

This journey reminded me that growth doesn’t come from certainty.
It comes from curiosity, learning, and starting before you feel ready.
