Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive Pedal - The Guitar Bay

This week we have The Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive Pedal. Much like the best boutique amps this compact versatile pedal lets you determine the amount of breakup by how hard you strike the strings with your pick, and/or by adjusting the volume knob on your guitar.

It offers wide range of tones from light overdrive into distortion and at lowest Distortion knob setting works as an EQ. It can also be used to create tube amp-like crunchy  ‘strike hard for distortion’ effect. There is not much filtering on the overdrive, to provide transparent tone that you can tailor with both the Treble and Bass control.

This pedal is an instant hit, plug n play straight up dynamic tones in seconds.

Demonstrated with the 2020 Epiphone SG with Gibson USA P90’s and a Fender Player Series Telecaster in Butterscotch (Stock)

Amp is a Laney LC50 mic´d with an SM57.
