Marantz SR8012 Receiver - CEDIA 2017

We're checking out Marantz's SR8012 Receiver at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego. The SR8012 has been completely retuned by Marantz using upgrade parts and processors.

The SR8012 has 11 discreet channels of amplification at 140 watts per channel, which can be configured to support up to a 7.2.4 surround system, with four independent height channels for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D.

Marantz was quick to point out that every single one of the SR8012's eight HDMI inputs is fully compliant with the latest HDMI and HDCP 2.2 specifications. Both models also support 4K Ultra HD, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 21:9 video, 3D, BT.2020 pass-through, and Dolby Vision pass-through support.

Rounding out the already impressive feature set is the immediate availability of Amazon Alexa voice control using an Amazon Echo speaker or Fire TV product. For now, only basic controls like volume adjustment, power on/off, and track skipping are support, but come November 2017, the two receivers will support recently announced Alexa multiroom audio support through Denon's HEOS systems.
