Filmed on a 12 mile circular ramble between Wotton-under-Edge and Dursley, Gloucestershire, UK. In Spotlight mode the drone locks on and points the camera at a chosen subject leaving the operator free to fly the drone using the right stick, adjusting height with the left stick. Turning the drone with the left stick is disabled. Instead it turns automatically to face the chosen subject. This feature hasn't been available on DJI's mini drones until now with the advent of the Mini 3 Pro. It would be difficult to use this mode whilst, say, cycling as the drone doesn't automatically follow, but for activities where at least one hand is free it's a great feature.
Care has to be taken as the drone doesn't have any obstacle avoidance sensors on the sides, only on the front, back and underside, so impacts with trees etc. are a risk as most flying in this mode will be at low level.
