We look at the life and musical career of Dave who was the Lead Singer and Songwriter with the band, whose big hit was Turning Japanese in January 1980, reaching number 3 in the UK charts, but number one in other countries. They had other hits such as News at Ten, and Jimmy Jones. It is a fascinating insight into, not only the creation of The Vapors (who were managed by Paul Weller's (The Jam) Dad John and Bruce Foxton (also of The Jam), and how fortunes can change when your publisher is bought out by a rival company.
