I remember watching her show as a kid and having some of the biggest laughs of my life. I loved her skits with the "Family". The character she played named Eunice was and still is one of the most hilarious characters ever created.
Many people don't know that her roots were on the Broadway stage. She starred in some well acclaimed roles in productions such as "Once Upon A Mattress" and "Fade Out Fade In". She has also done some great television specials with other living legend Julie Andrews. The musical “Follies” opened In 1971 and was written by Stephen Sondheim. Yvonne De Carlo starred in the original Broadway production and introduced the song "I'm Still Here". People may remember her for her work as a Hollywood film star in the 40s and 50s. She also had success playing Lily Munster in the 1960s television show “The Munsters”. This powerful version of “I'm Still Here” by Carol Burnett was recorded live with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Paul Gemignani in 1985. I have included many lovely pictures of the hilarious, talented Carol Burnett in this video. Upon writing this, Ms. Burnett is 90 years young! Enjoy! Thanks For Your Comments.
