SPECIFIC POINTERS about IIM A/B/C
1) IIM A- There are 6 buckets of academic categories here. And they shortlist some top X% people from each bucket. So say you belong to a particular bucket, then you may get a call at as low as 80%ile provided that 80%ile score falls within the top X% of that bucket. On the other hand, you may score 99.XX %ile and still not get a call because your score of 99.xx may not fall within top X% of that particular bucket. Hence, this process of selection is advantageous to some and disadvantageous to some others. Also to be noted is that if you are from general category, your average of 10th and 12th percentages should be more than 80% to be "eligible" for shortlist.
2) IIM B- Here the more academic scores you have the better. For example- If you have more than 90% in 12th, you get full marks for the weightage in IIM A. But in IIM B, a person with 98% in 12th will get more marks than someone with 91% in 12th. Also IIM B emphasizes a lot on work ex( both quantity and quality). If you have 2-3 years of work ex, you can get calls at 95%ile also as opposed to a fresher who will need 99.5+%ile.
3) IIM C- This is the only IIM among the Holy Trinity which gives less weightage to your past i.e. 10/12/UG. It gives full marks if you have more than 80% in 10th and 12th (as compared to 90% of IIM A and no limit on% of IIM B). It has no weightage to your UG scores (both A &B have). It gives weightage to work ex but only at the interview stage, not at shortlisting people for call. So a fresher and experienced person are treated the same at calling stage. Also, diversity points are there but their weightage is less and they are given only at interview stage. So to conclude,
If you are a general male (doesn't matter engineer or non engineer or fresher or work ex), you need 99.7%ile to get a call (%ile requirement is higher than A or B because other criteria are a bit relaxed).

NOTE- All the numbers put above are for GENERAL category people. For others, numbers are on the lower side.
