How To Make Star Constellations Stand Out: Astrophotography With A Diffusion Filter

Описание к видео How To Make Star Constellations Stand Out: Astrophotography With A Diffusion Filter

Have you noticed in your astrophotography that all stars appear evenly as bright? It is difficult to recognize the brighter stars of the constellations. In this video I show you how to make star constellations stand out better in your nightscape photos by using a diffusion filter. These filters (also called mist, fog or starglow filters) make the brighter stars appear larger.

I venture out into the dark on a cloudy night with a chance of some small gaps in between. There is also a moon out, but this doesn't hinder the star constellations to shine through.

I use my Canon 6D (astro modified) camera with the Sigma Art 14-24mm f/2.8 lens on a tripod. The filter I used is the Cokin X840.
