In this pleural fluid microscopy -
Numerous red blood cells (RBCs) – circular, biconcave discs, some appearing crenated.

Pus cells (polymorphonuclear leukocytes) – larger than RBCs, granular cytoplasm, multi-lobed nuclei (seen in a few cells).

Occasional mesothelial cells – relatively large cells with abundant cytoplasm and a central nucleus.

Summary of cells present:

Red blood cells (RBCs) – abundant

Pus cells (neutrophils / WBCs) – few to moderate

Mesothelial cells – occasional
