Don Long took these amazing photographs, showing director Peter Goldmann and others, while filming the 'Strawberry Fields' and 'Penny Lane' videos with his independent production company in Knole Park, Sevenoaks, Kent, on January 31 and February 7. I purchased them because they showed The Beatles actively involved in all aspects of the filming process, from painting props to reading light meters and cleaning lenses. The Beatles were true artists, taking a great interest in every aspect of the arts. These short films introduced a new format in terms of promotional music videos in that the footage showed scenarios that explored the meaning and the feeling of the accompanying song rather than just showing a performance
