Winter Barley harvest 2024.

Showcased in this video is the harvesting of our winter barley whereby a Massey Ferguson 24 combine was used followed behind by a Massey Ferguson 124 conventional square baler.

Due to thick grass at the bottom of the stalk, we opted to mow the stubble after baling for a ‘second cut’.

The remaining straw stubble was raked up and baled using our John Deere 575 round baler. The straw bales were then wrapped not due to high moisture content, but for ease of storage as the wrapped straw meant we could store the bales outside.
