Uganda's Maragoli community have been excluded from the country's Third Constitutional Schedule of the 1995 Constitution, which outlines the indigenous communities of Uganda- despite having lived in Uganda for decades. Their exclusion from the Third Schedule has led to a number of challenges in accessing services, especially since the recent introduction of national IDs. The Maragoli Community Association, since being founded in 1998, has undertaken a number of initiatives in order to obtain recognition by the Government- which to date is still pending.
