Marsabit Senator arrested over alleged embezzlement of Sh 365M

Marsabit Senator Mohammed Chute was arrested by officers from the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission. EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirming his arrest, says he was taken to Integrity Centre for questioning. In the first case, Senator Chute is under investigation for conflict of interest and theft of public funds arising from tenders worth 365 million shillings fraudulently awarded to two companies owned by the Senator and his wife Lydia Gode Yussuf. His arrest comes as Kenya joined the world in marking African Anti Corruption day. Timothy Kipnusu reports
