Create Icosahedral Au nanoparticles with VESTA software

In this short tutorial, learn to create icosahedral Au nanoparticles with VESTA software. Import the CIF file to the VESTA software and set the boundaries. Then go to the edit menu, click on edit data, then crystal shape, create the (111) plane, check the symmetry option, and define the color and transparency. Repeat the same steps and manually enter details of 12 (5 2 0) planes one by one, uncheck the symmetry box, and then apply. Then, go to the boundary and feed to information of the above plane in the cutoff section, which will create an icosahedral-shaped Au nanoparticle.
