Dr. Rashid Lui’s journey in medicine has been both fascinating and fulfilling. Initially practising as an internal medicine doctor, he later transitioned to specialising in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His motivation stemmed from a concerning observation: nearly 30% of new cancer cases in Hong Kong were related to the digestive tract. This realisation fuelled his conviction to explore new and effective ways to treat and possibly prevent these cancers. As the only multi-board accredited physician in astroenterology and Hepatology, Medical Oncology, Genetics and Genomics (Medicine), and Advanced Internal Medicine in Hong Kong, Dr. Lui’s multidisciplinary expertise underscores his commitment to revolutionising patient care and advancing medical practice, earning him a place at the Youth DreamMakers Awards in 2023.
