A short video on the creation of the Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin photo using the B&W Artisan pro X panel. A few weeks of work summarized in 11 seconds.
The Workflow (it takes longer to read this than to watch the video):
PS CC: Create masks of the bridge (Figure) and buildings in the background, and water and sky (Ground).
PS CC - B&W Artisan Pro X:
0. B&W Neutral Conversion
1. Global Contrast Low Key (remove contrast and darken) Ground.
2. Creating Depth in Ground elements (Dark to light in all directions)
3. Pro Tools: use of luminosity masks with intersected hard masks and Selective Adjustments presets to increase local highlights in Ground elements.
4. Repeat 1 to 3 to tweak till you got it right.
5. Global Contrast Mid Key (remove contrast and slightly darken) Bridge elements overall.
6. Creating Depth in all Bridge elements (pylon, road, supporting structure) from Light to Dark and Dark to Light in all directions
7. Global Contrast Low Key (remove contrast and darken) cables.
8. A few dozen Creating Depth - Special FX with highlight effects in the road, pylon, and cables, and with shadow effects in the road.
9. Repeat 5 to 8 till you got it right.
10. Repeat 1 to 9 to bring visual and tonal balance in Ground and Figure as a whole.
