The Blink Video doorbell is a wireless, battery-powered front door chime with a built- in high-definition camera.

It’s installed using the supplied mounting kit and can be wired to your existing door chime or configured to be standalone.

If you’re not going to wire it into your existing doorbell, two AA batteries are all that’s needed to power it for up to two years!

You’ll also need to make sure that there is 2.4Ghz WIFI access available at the front door.

From here, you’ll need to download the Blink app, sign in and configure the settings that suit you.

Once set up, you’ll receive a notification on your phone when the doorbell is pressed, no matter where you are.

Included with the Blink Video Doorbell is a 30-day free trial of the Blink Subscription Plan. This plan allows two-way audio, cloud-based video recording and even customizable filters to ignore pets or vehicles in the field of view.

Add in the Blink Sync module and you’re able to record and store video clips from up to 10 Blink Doorbell devices.

So, what do we like about the Blink Video Doorbell?

Compared to the Ring Video doorbell we covered in a previous video, the Blink is not only cheaper per unit, but the subscription and premium monitoring services are also much more affordable

Both companies are owned by Amazon, making Alexa integration standard.
