This video gives details about the token system, which would be replaced in about 2-3 years with the completion of Electrified Double-Tracking Project. In single line routes in Malaysia (East-Coast line and Butterworth to Padang Besar) uses this system. The lines are divided into "blocks", which starts at a Station capable of issuing Tokens and ends at another similar station. To proceed to the next block, a train must take a token at the stations, mostly handed to the driver via a leather bag with a loop. All videos taken with permission from KTMB staff.

Train#1: 29105 "Mersawa" with 135 down from Padang Besar to North Butterworth Container Terminal
Time: arrives at 1621hrs, departs at 1639hrs
Originally I wanted to spot at Bedong only, but when I got to the level crossing, it's closed, barring my way to my usual spot. So I made a U-turn and waited to see which way the train was heading. And this train passed, heading to Sg. Petani. And thus the race begun. (No one is harmed, all rules of traffic were obeyed in the race :)

Train#2: 29120 "Kledang" with 134 up from Prai to Padang Besar
Time: 1630hrs

Train#3: 25203 "Nilam" with International Express 36 up from Butterworth to Padang Besar
Time: 1721hrs
Delayed about 1 hour 20 mins due to late arrival of the rake, International Express 35 down, which, according to the station staff, passes Sg Petani around 1445hrs, 2 hours late. Overheard the staff talking about how yesterday's (7th) IE36up passes the station faster than today's.
