This is the official documentary about the 2012 Amazon Express Expedition: the first expedition to paddle the entire Amazon River from its newly discovered and most distant source in the Peruvian Andes, down 4200-miles to the Atlantic Ocean in norther Brazil. The expedition took 111 days total, through 500-miles of treacherous whitewater, river pirates, narcotraffickers and brutal tropical conditions. Led by West Hansen, the expedition had 18 members, two teams (whitewater and flatwater) and ended up with three kayakers by the time they reached the ocean.
