This is a tribute to our NGO partner: Manav Sadhna (love all, serve all). Manav Sadhna is based out of the Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram, arguably the birthplace of Indian independence and peaceful protest.
On the 12th of March 1930, 85 years ago today Gandhi set off on the Salt Satyagraha march in peaceful protest against the British salt tax from the Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram.
Few NGO’s in the world have such a strong historical connection to their country, fewer still have co-ordinators that grew up being served in the community and are now part of the organisation serving the community. This video is the walk that almost all Manav Sadhna volunteers make each day, walking from the Gandhi Ashram to the Manav Sadhna Community Centre in the adjacent slum: Rampir no Tekra. We directly pass three TAP preschools along the way.
Continuing in Gandhi’s legacy this is the peaceful protest the volunteers of Manav Sadhna make each day against community disempowerment. #bethechange
